Perhaps they lost the deal with Matrixgames? Last thing I read in that closed post on Matrixgames forum said that 'We have no connection to the Seewolves product.' or something to that effect, maybe they told X1 'Forget it, scammers'.

Well, I downloaded part 1 for curiosity. It seems to contain the real deal, wtih Air, campaign, Cfg, Crew, Land Library and Menu folders. Don't know all the mods out there but here is an extract from 'Sensors' file, backup file also included. Hope I won't get into trouble by posting this:

<Moderator: No you won't get into trouble, but it does seem that this is a scam layered on top of another scam. See below. JCC>

There's pretty big radio log fiule, skins for crew, new Airbase files etc.

Hmmm...would be interesting if it's the thing from the open server or a newer build...any readmes or EULAs inthere?

No, not in the part 1: I haven't downloaded anything else yet. I'll dig more into this (if noone else will) but since the part 1 already exceeded my dl limit per hous it's gonna take all day.

A wise, but vengiful member would extract the "new" components of seewolfes and offer it on the web for free :|\

I've stayed on the outside of this whole thing but, too be honest... X1 does have a good idea....... they just didn't impliment it properly (insulting the modders that many of these mods)

I was deeplly involved in another gamming commutiy, that was dying for certain reasons...... the solutions were on the table... ie: modifications that corrected/improved the game. These were all readily availble for free on the internet, but to the casual user they would never be found.

As a result the game died a slow death..... but if I a companyy similiar to X1 had taken the opporunity to incorporate these modifications into an offical pak (obviously observing copyright laws and obtaining legal permissions) who knows where it would be now???

Im not trying to justify X1 actions, but just merely suggest that sometimes a for-profit operation can actually be benifical for something that you all enjoy.

I tried to DL the last file (part-12) and it fails. It seemed to require a user/password, and states: 'Your anonymous browsing session has expired.'

Maybe part-12 is the readme file... :)

Hmm, can't get the last part either or maybe I'm doing something wrong. It seems to require Rapidshare Premium account access (=$) and is not available in free download mode. Anyone been able to get it with free login?

It seems that this is not legit. I don't know if someone thinks this is a way to get back at X1 or what, but the links that I edited out were not supplied by X1.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

I have a BIG problem with us becoming just like them...I know they tried to steal others work..BUT we can't lower ourselves to their level and steal their stuff.John Channing wrote"2 wrongs don't make a right"and I agree with this.I truely believe we are bigger than that.IF they decided to post the their stuff for download I'm sure it would have been posted somewhere in a public forum,NOT in a PM...sounds like somebody tring to pour salt on a wound.I have stopped posting on this matter period.I have voiced my opinion, posted in various forums and even called several software chains and informed them of the events.I will not download their stuff and become what we are fighting so hard.... :arrgh!:

Maybe R.Hood is Ossie?

Maybe this is a conspiracy to make us look bad.

Maybe it is an unscrupulous member doing things which in this case JC is right.

Hmmm curiouser and curiouser....

Well it sounds a bit strange that those of you who tried to download the last part was told that you needed a premium account, costing money. Some kind of cooperation between Rapidshare and X1?

It seems the drama continues...

It was not OSSI and I am pretty sure I know the reasons behind what was done. Suffice it to say that there is no conspiracy (corporate or otherwise), but rather a simple case of one person having a really bad idea.

Let's ignore all this X1 stuff.
There is nothing new in it anyway........and for those who would still like to have it, it can be downloaded from the internet in the usual places; but it is hardly worth the trouble.
All mods are available for free.
Let's give the X1 wreck a rest..........

I have a rapidshare premium account, if you want to tell me the link to that last file I will get it for you (not interested in their stuff myself, but eager to help you people deciper this...

Ok... it seems some further clarification is in order.

1) There is nothing to decipher. The poster that put these links up calls him(her) self R Hood. Robin Hood... get it? Steals from the rich and all that nonsense. But stealing is stealing. He/She has made two posts, and both encourage illegal activity.

2) The links were deleted for a reason. Warez is warez, regardless of where it is coming from, and asking for a link to download warez is just about the fastest way to get banned from these forums.

3) That includes using pm's to get the link as well.

4) It is also a really good way to get a thread locked.

One last clarification and then I will let this thread die the death it deserves.

I really don't think anyone has set out with malicious intentions here. People are just doing what they think is right or taking action that they feel will help or at least redress a perceived injustice.

And as far as that goes ... Great!

Where we get into trouble is when we act like the people we seek to condemn. If it is true that X1 stole the mods, how then are we any better when we steal something from them. The original intention and motives of "R Hood" are obvious to the point of being transparent. The problem comes when anyone decides to download the files. By doing that you are committing exactly the same act that X1 has alledgely committed against some of our own. This fixes nothing, it solves nothing... it does, however, cause us to surrender the moral highground and takes the resolve out of our position..

And I, for one, am not prepared to do that.

PS. NZ_Wanderer... I believe you didn't understand the situation and were just hoping to help so no problem mate. You are welcome here anytime.
