After his duty at the front, Hans Dreschler was a training officer in the 22nd and 27th flotillas. In 1955 Hans Dreschler joined the Bundesmarine, commanding the destroyer Z-2 and in 1966 becoming Chef des Marineamtes (chief of Navy department). He retired in 1972 as Konteradmiral and was highly decorated after the war with the Stern zum Großen Bundesverdienstkreuz (Star of the Great Federal Merit Cross).

Oh no, I've got it already and am a faithful user all the way - can't play without it now :up:

I just had a thought. It might be that this feature is from the upcoming version (which I'm testing). I lose track of what's in each version. Either way, I'm sure Jaesen will put us on the right track.
I just figured it out. This is indeed an upcoming feature. Sorry to mislead you there. Hehe, I'm so forgetful of what's included and what's not.
So I guess this is a feature to look forward to. :)

You are indeed correct Beery. This is coming up in the next release, hopefully not too far off. Other enhancements will include...
-inserting the correct tonnage figures regardless of user's country
-further improvements to the Career Summary
-removal of the IC2 and Front Clasp from the Auto Fix routine (suggestions are still provided)
-ranks, medals, quals, Career Summary and Crew List now labeled in German or English based on user's game text preferences
-ability to select from a valid list of U-boat numbers by sub type and flotilla when changing the U-boat number
Any more career summaries? Any war stories from people using SH3 Commander?
SH3 Commander can work quite subtly, but when you notice something from SH3 Commander that's not in the regular game it can be quite striking, especially in the most recent version that has all the new skins and date-based paint scheme changes. Does anyone have any of those 'Wow, that's cool!' moments?
If so, please tell us about them here. Although we know SH3 Commander is a popular mod, we don't tend to get a lot of feedback from users (I think perhaps most people who use it would rather use it than talk about it, LOL), so it would be good to hear some stories related to the mod. It might serve to explain the mod a bit better too for those who have been sitting on the fence, and perhaps get more people interested in trying it out.

Ernst attempted to sneak round the back of the convoy to the opposite side protected by the destroyers. Unexpectedly he came across a corvette that alerted the other escorts. Having slipped past 3 escorts, the U-49 attempted to follow the convoy and this was its undoing. The boat was picked up again and lost due to flooding. So much for "Be more aggressive".

After his duty at the front, Max von Raubach became a tactics instructor and the chief of the "Offiziers-kompanie" in the 1st ULD (U-Boot-Lehrdivision). After the surrender Max von Raubach spent more than a year in Allied captivity. In 1956 he joined the Bundesmarine, in 1957 becoming commander of the Marine-Abschnittskommando Nordsee (Navy section command North Sea). In 1962 he was named Befehlshaber im Wehrbereich I (Chief of Military District I). He retired in 1965 as Konteradmiral. In 1966 he was decorated for his postwar achievements with the Bundesverdienstkreuz (Federal Merit Cross). He died on 16 December 2004 in Kiel.

After his duty at the front, Karl Jahnkow became commander of the 27th Flotilla, where new U-boat crews received their tactical training. After the war Karl Jahnkow spent some weeks in captivity before going on to serve for more than two years in the German minesweeping service (Deutscher Minenräumdienst). During the postwar period he joined the Bundesmarine (post-war German Navy). There he served for four years as Navy attache in the USA and then spent three years as Flottillenadmiral and Commander of the Marinedivision Nordsee before retiring in March 1970. He died on 26 April 1989.

like myself after reading a lot of other posts I thought the average about 10 or 12 :|\
A bit late, on another career though. The end of my first SH3 commander career...with realistic length turned off...a decision which will haunt me. :-?

Yup. Prior to 1939 the annual intake of naval officer cadets, called "crews", occurred on 1 April each year. (1937 also had an intake in October).
These intakes became more frequent from 1939 until the end of the war.
