Auto calc battle option?

Is there any way to auto resolve battles or could one be added?

I'm thinking more about the large battles where it's mostly cargo ships and an obvious win.

Yes. With the latest 1.09 update any enemy merchants which no longer have an active escort are automatically sunk when withdrawing your ships from combat.

This is only available in Battle of the Atlantic games.

This is not the case. I was wondering what the "auto sink merchants" comment was in the update for 1.09. I just played an axis battle of atlantic mission where I sunk a cruiser and a destroyer, then waited one turn before withdrawing all of my subs. I was awarded warship points but zero merchant points.
