Playing stock game. Not exactly sure when it happened, didn't do anything out of the ordinary, just suddenly didn't have crew voices anymore. Have music and sound effects, but no crew talk or alarms. Went as far as completely shutting down the computer, rebooting, starting the game again. Tried starting in training mode and the saved game and neither had crew voices or alarms. ??:hmmm:

Re-install the game.

Before you do that, go to Options, Sound Settings, check the Voice Volume slider and checkbox.

The lost crew is where they turned to vampires so you never hear them since they are using their melodramatic mind bending hypnosis on you.

You might want to turn around ... your about to get bit.

By the way to drive the mad demons from your boat ... just run the movie Operation Petticoat in the mess decks. Any view of Joan O'Brien will calm them down in and instant.

Yeah, I looked at the options/sound thing first. I knew I hadn't changed anything there, but looked anyway. I tried clicking and unclicking it, etc, to no avail. I don't want to reinstall... this thing was a bitch to get going the first time around. *sigh*

Ah, rocket boobs. I grew up in the wrong era, indeed. lol

Probably a lipsync problem.

check your antivirus software, (the virus chest). :salute:

OMG, that's exactly where it is! I have the avast antivirus on this machine too.

How do I "restore" it though? Do I just right click copy it and paste it back in the ubisoft folder or something? Not sure where I'm supposed to go with it. That is so weird, and I'm SO glad you posted that.

Usually, it works like the recycle bin; the window menu should provide the option to 'restore' the file. Doing so puts it back in it's original location.

Thanks SO much, fridens, for posting that up for me! And TorpX for the follow up. All I had to do was find the virus chest thing and restore the lipsync as mentioned, and I have my crew talking again just that quickly. So glad I didn't try to start the reinstallation process yet.

Damn! we had a lipsync problem on board.
pure luck that we didn't have to sink the ship. :arrgh!: :yeah:

Yeah, uninstalling/reinstalling software isn't on my short list of 'fun things to do', either.

Too weird ... I have never had a virus check lock up any file that wasn't actually a virus.

Well, the crew got their voices back, but they're really quiet though. Can only barely hear them now, and that's with the voice sound setting cranked all the way up.

Check your anti-virus program, (the virus chest).
After (Lips ****. RRA) files.
you can see if they belong to the "SH4" game.
and then "right click", "restore and add exception". :yep:

From time to time it happens, and we will see it again.
better to be safe than sorry ....
