those that know me will be shocked by the header on this post....lol

I am an old RFB player that finally finished the war ( 6 career attempts ) playing RFB.

So I have TMO 2.5 in the MOD section and will be using RSRD also, anything else I should look into?

You finally did it...!

I don't play anymore, but that was my base setup. I did use Travs mod, but I preferred stopping at his version 2.2 as I didn't like his env changes, but it does add some elements that really liven up the game, such as if flooded your sub can sink from the surface, sit on the bottom without damage and I like his overall damage model. I still tweaked several other things to my own liking.

I do have an env that I made that I used for TMO/RSRD basically for night surface attacks and some mild changes in water color during the day. As I recall I added in taters fixes, adjusted radar, nulled the lights on the majority of ships except escorts and basically reworked the night. I did some testing on it, but bubblehead tested it a lot and liked it. If you want to give it a test run, pm me your email and I'll send you.

I may have made a version that can be used with Travs mod, I just don't remember, overall it would probably be fine, but I can't recall if I replaced his solid cloud shader which I didn't like.

IMO start with TMORSRD, get taters fixes for TMORSRD. I think Trav was about right at 2.2, but I don't know if a copy is uploaded anywhere, but I suspect someone has it. He didn't make any major changes in env at 2.2 and my TMO env should be find with that, but wouldn't use it beyond that. I did use several other small mods, but don't much recall now and several of my own. Alas, my PC with all my files, game, etc...flamed out and I haven't had it looked into, but do have some mods saved in email I sent to others.

which mod is this tater's fix for RSRD ? LOL

and yes I figured you would be shocked to see me giving TMO a try...same thing happened to my computer hard drive finally gave up, lost all my mod's and skin's that I had and can not be replaced.

I have been giving SH3 a good try, wow it was worth it to get, I would even go as far to say in my opinion better then Op Monsun for SH4, the GWX gold mod is fantastic, you should give it a try.

I don't know if taters fixes ever got uploaded, but you can check. Many people use them, so maybe start another thread on needing taters fixes.

I'm in the mood to play again, cuz I really just got my game modded to the way I like it....them boom. Since then I use a google notebook and play no games. I think mine is the power supply or a short somewhere, probably not worth fixing, but need to get all my files off it.

I played 3 off and on with gwx and enjoyed it, but always ended back up in a fleet boat.

hehe...see you live in Charlotte. I work a lot in Mooresville and plenty family from Fort Mill to Lincolnton. My father and stepmom lived in Mooresville, but he passed recently. I still go stay a few days with her weekly trying to get things settled. She is 86, still living by herself.

Well, I know you know how to load a mod. Unzip the DL TMO, find the TMO 2.5 folder and move it into your mods folder.

Hi all - I'm completely new here, and to SHIV. I purchased it during Steam's summer sale a week ago, and absolutely love it!

I want to install TMO as well after reading all about it, but am having an issue getting it to run as well. I was able to get it installed, saw the TMO load in screen, but the game stops loading after getting about 80% done. I get a variety of error message window pop ups, then the game crashes. If I uninstall TMO, the stock game runs fine.

Any thoughts? Here are the errors:

#1: There's a new (not implemented) page: <Page ChooseLoadSave>!
#2: There's a new (not implemented) page: <Page PlayerRank>!
#3: There's a new (not implemented) page: <Page IntelligenceUnits>!
#4: There's a new (not implemented) page: <Page WeaponsAndSensors>!
#5: MenuID Not Found: 0x6101000b!
#6: MenuID Not Found: 0x61080004!

And then the game crashes. There are no other mods installed.

Help?

Thanks!

Amgrod

captgeo, make sure you don't have the deadly double folder (SH4\mods\tmo\tmo).

Amgrod, welcome to Subsim. :salute:
Don't be afraid to ask questions, we're always glad to help. Check out the stickies for some excellent advice. :know:
Then go over to General Topics. We have a lot fun there. If you want some abuse, be sure to stop in The Bilge. We need a newbie to clean up after Wolferz. :O:

Now your problem. I believe Steam has the 1.4 version. If you may have loaded TMO 1.2 or later, that's written for version 1.5. Make sure you have a TMO written for the correct version of SH4. You can go over to Ubisoft and download version 1.5, that's the u-boat add on. The latest mods are written for version 1.5. Even if you don't use the u-boat mission or mods, it still corrects a lot of bugs and is well worth the money.

Hi there! Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!

I did purchase the UBoat add-on from Steam as well, and the stock load screen does include the UBoat Missions logo - so I am assuming it's loaded correctly. I've been trying to find a way in-game to verify which version I'm running but haven't tracked that down yet.

I have JSGME installed correctly - I was able to use the 3000 yard marker mod successfully, so functionally that part works. I'll check tonight to see which version of TMO I downloaded - I thought I had the right one but I'll double check.

@Captgeo - I initially had the problem you were describing and had to redo my JSGME install. Hope that solves your problem!
