Oh dear...Venturebeat have posted their video interview (http://venturebeat.com/2013/03/04/silent-hunter-online-dives-deep-into-submarine-warfare-video/) from the recent press day on SHO. Looks like they do indeed intend to charge for "time compression points", probably the stupidest/most annoying decision in the history of gaming.

I don't get it why gamers pay with credits for "time compression points", and there are some currently in the beta :shifty:

I am now in Chapter III of the campaign, scrapped my two starter Type II boats and built three Type VII, never lost a sub and get everything just with prestige points earned by gameplay. I use time compression points on all my missions but have enough in stack and the points are recharging over the time. All my credits are still untouched.

But there are some player who lost their sub still in the tutorial or both Type II in the first chapter of the campaign where the convoys don't have escorts, just by ramming the ships

And there are kind of players who don't want to wait for the damage team to repair the sub (approx. 10-12 minutes) and pay credits for immediate repair or buy torpedos at sea (from milkcow) instead of going back to the harbor and rearm their sub.

I think those players are the main target for Ubisoft because they will pay in the future with real money for the ingame credits :yep:

If you love him you might have at least gotten his name right. This section is here because Subsim is devoted to all submarine games and beyond that all naval games. It doesn't matter how good or bad any member thinks the game is. It's a matter of respect, something you might want to show a little of.

If you bothered to search the whole website you might have noticed that there is indeed a forum for other naval games, and one for for other types of games in general. Subsim is a widely varied site, catering to all kinds of tastes. You don't have to play the game, and you don't have to read this forum. It would be nice, however, if you were a bit more polite when trashing the site's owner.

I'm not real good at reading minds. I had no idea if you were poking fun or not. I can only take a rant at face value.
