I remember, when I was growing up, my mother has this make up book from some Hollywood make up artist. This was back in the '70's. What made this book especially interesting was it was the first one where the artist had the actresses pose with both make up and professional lighting and with no make up and room lighting. It was pretty unusual back then.

These beautiful actresses looked hideous. The "ordinary" girls I was dating looked way way better then these actresses looked sans make up. Worst of all, the make up back then was not exactly good for the skin.

I always wondered if this was one of the causes for the short marriages in Hollywood - they finally get to see each other without make up and in real lighting. :o:o

There were only two actresses in this book that looked good without make up - Morgan Brittany (Suzanne Cupito) and Erin Gray.

I much much prefer the natural beauty of women. I don't want The Frau to wear any make up as she does not need it as far as I am concerned.

It is sad to see the young women out there with pounds of crap on their faces. They need to, at least, take some lessons on how to properly apply make up.

My wife teaches the girls in her class to (try to) not use make up, at least not so damn much of it. The first time she finds them all scrubbing their faces in the bathroom afterwards, it soon builds up again over time.

It may help if she didn't insist on not leaving the house without it! :damn: She really does look better without - as do most people.

On models it depends, there are some who look great without war paint, these are the real beauties, I'm with you there.
However piercings, breast implants and tattoos can enhance natural beauty - not neccessarily naval rings (yuck) or tramp stamps.
I'm not the Barbie doll type, that's why I find many of the women posted here just look so much lacking character = not attractive to me.

Most in that list I either don't know about or even like 'with slap' - a lot of the pics sans make-up were off guard pulling-a-face faces and with flash photography without all the premiere lighting it also adds to the horror. it's so pathetic when Polish journalists call her "Karolina Wozniacka". Karolina being the equivalent for Caroline, and no matter how stupid it sounds, I would accept it BUT changing Wozniacki to Wozniacka (if her husband's/father's name is Wozna-cki then the female version of his name would always be Woznia-cka [i.e. ending with cka, never cki]) is just super retarded.
