Alle U-Boote, die aus Kiel sind angewiesen, den Kiel Kanal verwenden, wenn abfliegen Patrouillen. Die Marine kann zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht ausreichenden ASW Patrouillen durch die Skagarak und zu vielen Orten ermöglichen Feind S / M Hinterhalt der Weitergabe U-Boote.
Im Auftrag des BDÜ,
All U-boats operating out of Kiel are instructed to use the Kiel Kanal when departing on patrols. The Navy cannot at this time provide adequate ASW patrols through the Skagarak and too many locations allow for enemy S/M ambush of passing U-boats.
