No mods just the goblin editor? You mean he edited the settings in the goblin editor so his boat could do that stuff? That is pretty lame if that's the case.

And by the way if your picking up games with people randomly there is no way to tell if your mods are the same. MP is 10x better than the campaign when you get a good group of commanders playing with the same mods.

I do suggesting you find a decent group to play with where all the mods are equal. Joining peoples games at random would be lame for sure. I couldnt imagine playing MP SH5 without having voice comms either.

I wonder if 5 is like 4.. you mentioned your server crashed and then you could connect to this guy with his modded V. In 4 there is a known bug, or use to be.. if someone with some different install location connects to a host, he can fire a torpedo and crash everyone except himself.. another words, all must have same install paths, I know sounds strange as heck but was the case. I installed to default while they all did a c:/ install. I was one of a few crashing people on accident till it was discovered why. I think there is a thread around here someplace about it. Once I installed like everyone in this group, all was fine.

So, I guess what has to be done is the same as in 4, you have to get a group together and be on the same page. Meet up with those that play often and you soon have a group of guys that do not hack and enjoy playing the sim. It's just a game to play with random players unfortunate as it may be.
