Least favorite Patrol Zone

Like the title says, whats your least favorite place to patrol? I'm sure we all have that place where we dread going.

For me its the Java Sea, when i get orders to go there i know my main goal will be to remain undetected, even if it means letting a juicy target slip by because there is no depth to escape to. In some places your in 60ft of water or less. I know that if i'm detected its going to be a fight to the death and i'll probably be bringing the Tarpon back to port with some holes blasted into her if i even make it back at all.

So whats your personal hell on earth?

Yeah! I agree, Java Sea is a pain. I take longer shots, like 2000 to 2500 yards away and only if I am in a good position to slip away.

AAARRGGGGG...totally agree, this mission was impossible for me. Tried it 3x with no luck. Every time I got to the chock point deep in the harbor DD and Gunboats always seem to appear and find me. Last time I took damage from a DD and finally sank him but one small gunboat tracked me all the way back to the ocean and stupid me I veered away to off the main channel and hit a mine killing me and the gunboat.

Formosa in 44. They run the shallows then and all the convoys have several type AB escorts with 6 Y guns, planes can see you shallow and mines everywhere..

Try dodging a couple hundred charges from those devils, planes and hope you don't hit mines...

I actually love it, but attacking in calm water is sure death, rough water you may have a 50% chance...or take long shots and run like hell.

Yes, Osaka recon would suck, but as for a patrol zone, I'd have to say the Java sea is my least favorite. Once I was forced to surface and gun it out with a destroyer or get dc'ed. Took alot of damage and had to return to port afterwards.

Osaka is rough, the only time i tried it i got nailed by a DD before i even got close. Hiroshima is another fun one, i managed to pull that off but i have no doubt i'd have failed if i was running TMO.
