I don't use a wheel. All you need is the protactor, and your target's course.

1. I am lined up here a la Dick O'Kane, but it works with any angle. It's relative to your target. I place the protactor on the line drawn on the target's course, in front of the target.

2. Draw the protactor on to your target.

3. Draw the protactor over your sub's position. Est voila. AOB.

I get about 95% hits with this. When I miss, it's usually because I get the target's speed wrong.

Why didn't I think of that?

That's what I use on long approaches after I'm satisfied that I've plotted their course fairly well.

Plain 'ole guessing when I need to set up quick.

Even easier: When you know your target's course just set the AOB so that the outline of the target ship on the position keeper points toward the target's course. :salute:

Uhh. Yeah! That works, too.

That is what I do, this is made especially easy with the MOD that frees up the wheels so the change on the AoB entry happens in real time on the TDC rather than waiting to click the input button.
