More Powerful Torpedoes v1.0 for SH5 v1.1

This simple mod doubles all torpedo damage values, including AI torps. Not sure if it's realistic or not, but will make sinking ships a bit easier.

Heh and me who wondered if the torpedoes were not to powerfull.........

I have yet to see a ship need more then 1-2 torpedoes to sink, but that might have to do with what they were carrying in the cargo bay (explosives perhaps)

Probably does, all ships that carry War Materials go down with one shot, usually blows up very nice.

I second this. Blow through half your ammo to drop one freaking merchant.

im currently trying to rise the shell damage for the sub cannons by multiplying it with 3. Problem is that there are 50 values in there and no name or anything about the caliber...so i dont know which one out of the 50 is the sub gun.

For me its way more fun if ships would sink after firing 5-12 shots instead 40+ :)

thanks for this. It took me a while to figure out how to properly fire torps again, sh5 changed everything again. Glad to know my hits will do better damage. (although i had a 10000/1 shot tonight, sunk a brittish destroyer with one hit right on the stern..it was sad and beautiful at the same time. )

As for the shells damage..im not sure what to think. Sure it really causes you a lot of grief trying to whittle down a simple frig however the fire effects make it worthwhile to me.

That is probably closer to reality, actually. But I suppose I could make a more powerful shell mod if people want one.

I'm wouldn't go as far as saying it's 'cheating'. I personally want the game as realistic as possible, thus I won't use any overpowered mods. But there are many casual players here, too. I don't think there is any right or wrong way to play SH5. Just personal preferences. I also think there should be enough room for both hard-core and casual types of players here.

Until we get a proper ship damage mod out, I think it's difficult to judge what the "proper" damage value of torpedoes should be.

What did you change and why? Do you have documentation that supports your changes or you did it just because?

Please document your changes and share with everyone so that others may customize to their likings.

Mediafire pretty much fails as a file host since it deletes files after like a week.

try the download section of subsim - it is a mod Critical hits torpedo who is doing almoust the same thing - use that one untill the link from here will be available again

Is there a way to make torpedo powered enough to seek a merchant to at least 5000 tones??? I guess this would be more realistic :up:
