Surface and use only "S" to come up and not blow ballast its takes a bit longer time but this could help in many place.

DO DD,S HEAR THE SUB BLOWING BALLAST , IN SILENT HUNTER 3 G.W.X 3.0 GOLD IN MULTIPLAY :hmmm: ?Enemy ASW ships will hear you ALOT easier if you are not rigged for silent running. Blowing ballast is something you should not consider doing unless it's a last resort, as it was an emergency situation typically in connection with extreme damage your U-boat may have suffered.

The only noise that ASW ships cannot hear in the game for some reason, is when you do a depth check with your acoustic sonar.:yep:

Probalby thay can..

Almost everytime I used blow ballast (+ no engines and silent running mode) to came up at periscope depth quickly from 200m I was often detected (by pings!) by heading DDs..
