I have been sabotaged!! My sub, Spearfish, is about to encounter a solitary merchant e of Luzon straits, so I ordered periscope depth, and the sub dives straight - to the bottom!!! 3 reloads, all same result. Also the screen has slid off to the right, covering about 2 inches of game screen. Full compensation to the left only recovers about a half inch!

What I want to know is who planted the time bomb whilst I was in port in Manila? Bloody saboteurs!

Im sure you used P and not D for the periscope depth command.

As to the screen shift... you dont have dual monitors by chance do you?

Can I inquire as to your last save? Is this restarting your game from a save? Altho even that would not account for the screen issue. Seems like two different issues... how is your video card?

Is this your complete mod list? I assume you have TMO1.7 and needed patches before RSRDC.
Doubt it's the problem but you need RSRD TMO v411 patch 1. Think it's just a ship ID fix, but without it that ship would cause a CTD.

If you're just running stock, you need the correct ver of RSRD.

Can I inquire as to your last save? Is this restarting your game from a save? Altho even that would not account for the screen issue. Seems like two different issues... how is your video card? patch 1.4 or 1.5?

second patrol out of Manila from save, new game, having finished the previous one with no problems. Video card is brand new GeForce 9400 GS with 1GB RAM on board. vista HP on 3GB RAM.

oh yes, AFTER reinstallation due to video sizing problem, forgot that.

You did go grab the latest drivers right?

yes i know it comes with a disk go get the new ones anyhow.

and 1280 x 800 is an odd resolution try switching to 1280 x1024 :up:

I switched to that res down from a higher one to see if it would make it better. And yes, the first thing I did was update drivers to the latest version within 10 mins of the card installed. I may do a complete uninstall again, and take it from there. Its still the best subsim anyway ;)

Sorry, I nearly missed this.

When I did a reinstall, its entirely possible that I may have missed a bit, its not impossible for a doh! like me. Anyway what do you recommend, and in what order of installation, at least I can run that through and see if it makes any diff.

Update: Complete uninstall all, saves, everything. Used specialist program to clear registry (Advanced System Care from Iobit.com) and did complete reinstall of stock and up to 1.4 patch. Added Torpex, smaller rocks, ships physics V0.2b and Gato nightfighter skin and running patrol out of manila to Celebes.

Video problem corrected on 1024 x 768 default software setting, have not tired higher res yet. So far so good, and no crash dives to bottom!! :yeah:

I am going to try and find the elusive thread/post which tells all us dummies which RSRD to load with what and in what order, then I can see if it repeats itself.
