Ventrilio is not necessary as we already have our own ventrilo server.

Yes. something similar to hamachi. Just we want to furnish the server for our group players to join to play our games. UBI has become so unstable lately, it is making a frustrating week for players who only can play on weekends and then poof the UBI server takes a dodo.

I recently checked in to Game Ranger. They're a virtual LAN game host service, similar to Hamachi. Been around for 10 years for Macs but recently added support for Windows PCs.

Game Ranger already has support for SH2. I'm not sure about SH3 or SH4. Limit is 6 slots for free but there are Silver, Gold, and Platinum level premium services that give you more slots for a reasonable cost.

Is there a way to quick people out? There is a bunch of us that want to play MP but strangers come in and ruin our fun by sinking friendly subs instead of the enemy. We want to play an open server with bare bones passwords, but it seems the online jerk heads come out of the woodwork.

I think Game Ranger has an optional "Friends List" feature where only people on your list can join a game you're hosting. This allows you to game with your buddies without the necessity of passwords to keep the morons out. :know:
