Update your favorites, the site url has just changed a little.

At the time, when I wrote the above update link, that one was working, and the old one didn't. Now, both of them don't work...

Not to be rude, but does it really matter? Ubisoft haven't released any new patches for SH3 for ages, which really was more or less the only reason to ever go there again.
As long as they don't shut down the servers for multiplay, then whatever...

Game itself may not be supported, but there seems to be lots of folks participating in the forums. Probably for many of the same reasons they participate here at SUBSIM.

When I purchased Silent Hunter III a few years ago it was the SH3 website's community links that led me to the Ubi Forums and Subsim.

SH3 may be "old" but it still a very popular game and there are indeed still new users that join the SH3 community even today.

A game's website and home page is the front door that introduces new players to the community, not just a place to get patches.

The front door for SH3 has been shut and this will make it more diffcult for kaleuns to find the resources and communities that have kept SH3 thriving.

Sure, you can Google for it, but that's a rather impersonal and imprecise way to find just the right links.

I just found that these (SubSim's) boards were much friendlier & populated with considerably more helpful & mature people than the Ubi ones. That's why I stopped visiting the Ubi SH3 boards.

since yesterday you cannot get on to Ubi Game server
our players from around the world get the same message
for Silent Hunter 3,
ERROR
The Ubi.com Database Is
Unavailable

Unusual:hmmm:, but this has never been seen before,
Is it gone for good?

The same seems to apply for Silent Hunter 4,

Can you tell I have never played MP with SH3 :oops::oops: Up until the last year I had dial-up at home, and since getting high speed I have been playing SH4, I don't MP with it either.

Anyway, I meant if MP can't be set up at UBI, can it be done from another location, server. Clear as mud :doh:

I can already feel it's going to stink a lot if it is really a shutdown of UBI server.. Even might be a total dead-end for MP on SH3 at all. :down:

I'm certainly glad that the SH3 MP server is back up! Had more than a few if us worried, in light of the SH3 website being taken down just a couple of days prior to the outage.

Hamachi was a no-go. Something about Vista just does not like using Hamachi to game with SH3 or else the latest version of Hamachi is broken as far as "seeing" SH3's LAN connection.

Not to worry, we here at ComSubsPac are exploring all options, in case the next "outage" is permanent. I have full faith in our fearless leader as we all work together on this. Keep the flags of discontent flying, owner! :salute:

Speaking about multiplayer matches I miss more active people to play online using SH3 + GWX 3.0 + CSP Online Mod v1.0-GWX. Globaly. There are still a lot playing vanilla multiplayer which is already a shame so to speak. I say get rid of that outdated habit to play stock SH3 online and bring yourself to the upper level at
