You can help me.

Software problem here ..........

I have been farting around with this for 5 days now. :x

Have Vista Home Premium. This has worked worked PERFECTLY for the past 12-months using the 1.4 version of Microsoft's SyncToy - saved my butt more than once to have a fast and easy easy recovery - mainly a Microsoft Money data file[s].

Five [5] days ago, upgraded to version 2.0 of SyncToy. Yes, I have the "space" in front of the -R [copy all Folder pairs] additional parameter. Whether it is on the command line OR if I use the additional parameter box, the thing falls apart. Getting a Last Result run error of "0x1" which is REAL user friendly - thank you Mr. Gates. :)

If I manually run this from a DOS/CMD prompt it WORKS!

My machine and the spouse's machine have the IDENTICAL logon password so there is no reason for this not to work! Have TRIPLE checked the password.

Google searches lead to a dead end or a site to $PAY$ to get the answer.

I really don't consider myself a dumb bell, but this one has me STUMPED.

Do I need to buy flavored lipstick for you? :haha:

damn you Microsoft. No, I am not reverting back to 1.4 because of the huge difference on the amount of time reduction this takes using 2.0 in the GUI mode. Take 'sumthin so simple and gum up the works. Shrug!

Stupid question...
Did you try running it as an admin or with/with-out User Account Control?

Different program, same error

Also found this.. not sure if it helps, tho.
While validating the source of the error code "0x1", I stumbled upon the solution of the problem.
my computer is part of a computer network domain and I belong to the Network Administrators Group.
"SyncToy Help" states that you must have administrative privileges in order to install the application, specially if you don't have the Microsoft Sync Framework. Since I have administrator privileges I installed Synctoy with my user profile and on the scheduler task I had the "Run As" Field As the local Administrator.
It turns out that if you install SyncToy with a profile that is not Administrator:
1) You must use that same profile in the "Run As" Field on the Task Tab, as in "YourDomain\yourprofilename"
2) also, you have to mark the "Run only if logged on" checkbox.
3) Remember to set your password also.
The scheduler is now running the SyncToyCmd correctly.
for more information on scheduler issues see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/308558
Thanks everyone for your help.

This doesn't really solve your SyncToy problem, but this program works great and is cheap.
