The reviews for both are in and from what we've read, the GTX 295 seems to match or outshine its AMD Radeon HD 4870 X2 (http://www.engadget.com/tag/hd4870x2) counterpart in most performance tests. As for the GTX 285, the general consesus is that it's the fastest single-GPU graphics card on the market right now.

I was just reading about how fast the 4870 X2 was. Yet it seems Nvidia really is ready to regain it's advantages.

AMD has lost serious ground to Core i7 so their graphics department has to continue to shine. A 1gb GDDR5 card that is just over 100 would be great right about now for them.

The only problem is that the 4870X2 prices are dropping fast, and the GTX 295 can't compete in that regard.
