I was wondering if its possible to fight another sub in this game? Like a 1 on 1 sub battle. It was a big reason i bought the game.

BTW love the forum!!

I can't really help you with multiplayer missions. In Operation Monsoon your u-boat can fight against a Russian Sub. But it's a single mission, not a multiplayer mission. Operation Monsoon is a must in my opinion.

Not sure what you mean. Deck gun battle would be cool. Torpedo battle would be ridiculously hard to win. Submerged torpedo battle would be GLORIOUS, but AI subs can't submerge.

Historically in WW2, sub versus sub battles were rare and usually one-sided. One sub submerged would by chance catch another sub cruising on the surface and dispatch it like a common merchant vessel. It's only in the modern era with advanced sonar and passive sonar suites that you would really ever have a good chance of two subs evenly battling to the death while both are underwater.

Yes, not to mention, you need homing torpedoes ! I used to play sub dogfights online with Jane's 688. That was fun.

:/\\: In SH4 MP, player subs can take damage from other player subs. It's usually called "friendly fire" but, if you want to battle against one another, it can be done.

You are wrong. Sub-sub combat was possible in WWII and it was explicitly shown in U-571.

You have quite a wit. I salute you. :salute: I always love how they launched those two torpedoes at once with a skeleton crew and no broaching.

U-571 is a movie
and the real U-571 was sunk by an aircraft
if you want examples from wwii sub-to-sub engagement
the Gato class sank a handful of submarines
the british T-class sank many subs
and a norwegian sub sank a submerged german submarine
