Weird Multiplayer bug

Hi guys.


I'm new here, but please dont kill me :D I searched before asking this, and I read "Getting Started with SH4 Multiplayer" thread. I also read some other threads, but none were even close to my problem, which makes me feel sooo special :p

Anyhow, here's my problem - I hope some of you have seen it before :

When playing in multiplayer, my torpedoes doesn't work. I can open the tubes to sea, aqquire targets, fire upon them, see impacts and ships will disappear in watersplashes and start to catch on fire. They also even "try to sink" but it just wont happen.

I even torpedoed a destroyer 5 times, and it was burning and all. It even flipped around and sometimes pointed towards the sky or towards the buttom. It actually ended up with that destroyer "sailing over my sub". It didnt shoot at me, it simply crashed into me. As it did that, it took me down 40 meters beneath, and the destroyer followed me down. However, it immediately resurfaces.

My deckgun works fine - I sink large ships in about 5 shots at 2700meters distance. My anti air gun sets planes on fire, but doesnt shoot them down. That might be my aim though.

My torpedoes work fine in single player campaign and training.

So I tried again in another game yesterday :

When I surfaced in that same game (due to being sick of not being able to do anything), I tried my hand with the deckgun. That worked a treat, I sunk 6 ships in less than 10 minutes, and not only that. As I attracted all the escorts, my fellow player could also surface and catch up to the convoy.


So... Any thoughts on this really strange issue ? :)

I run the game at about 60 FPS all the time - it seems to be locked from going higher. At times (very rare) it drops to about 40 FPS, so I think my PC works the game alright.

If I failed to include something, don't hesitate to ask, please. And thanks in advance for any replies. :)

Thanks for the PM - I haven't tried hosting myself yet though, the people I'm playing with aren't always equally eager to sink ships :D

Yes, excellent repair crews, but also excellent flotation devices. I think every member of that repair crew has a supersize lolita doll, that can inflate in a matter of seconds, preventing the ship from going under. :o It's what makes sense to me :p
