Just curious if the GWX team has officially anounced development of GWX for SH4 yet?

They’ve announced that they’re working on it, but apparently it’s still too early to know how long it’s going to take. Either that, or they want to drop the announcement as a bomb and blow us all away :D

More seriously, it'll take a few months to begun setting the base for GWX4, we're rebuilding the subs almost from scratch to take them to sh4 graphic detail level, and and we'll do that with most of the units present in GWX 2.1, so don't wait for it standing...

Cool. I hope I didn't seem impatient. I don't even own SH4 yet. But I will be purchasing a copy now that I know the GWX team is at work. I'm really intrigued by SH4 but I love the Atlantic campaigns. Looks like I'll have some time to fall in love with the Pacific Ocean before returning to the Kreigsmarine. Will make GWX even sweeter if I've been away from Germany for a while.

Thanks for the many hours of hard work that all of you have put into GWX so far. And thank you in advance for the many hours of hard work yet to come.

Silent hunter has, without question, become the best WW2 naval simulator series in the history of computer gaming. And much of the credit, especially where immersion and detail are concerned, should go to the GWX team, as well as the many other modders who have contributed so much of their time to the game they enjoy.

I've just looked it up in "The War at Sea" by Ian Allan and I can tell you it's a first disappointment from the GWX team. the book clearly states page 265 that the british warship box used a very different font colour prior May 1945, therefore this one is NOT historically accurate. Besides the proportions seem rather odd, I bet it wasn't modelled from an actual blueprint :nope:

I agree with PT. I'm assumeing that this project will also include the U Boats as well. I kinda like the GUI that OLC has produced for SH3. Not just the tools for manual targeting, but the layout as well. We need something similar, especially for the Nav screen. It would be nice to have the convoy route map, ect... at our fingertips. I PM'd OLC about the possability of producing a GUI for SH4, but he declined.:cry:

GWX has always been a mix of in house and forum members
work.

It remains that way.
And always will while I'm stuck with this job!

Sometimes it's hard to say NO,
that mod is just to much work to fit in!

It is very easy to claim to know the ideals and beliefs of the team. You have plastered them all over the forum! I am only repeating what you and others of the GW have said many times before. A more difficult question is how anyone could remain ignorant of your ideals and beliefs. I am sure if I were wrong privateer would correct me and I would admit misunderstanding the situation. Actually it goes both ways. "Men" is usually gender-specific, so "men and women" might have been better, but when addressing a group informally no-one normally objects to someone saying "You guys", and meaning everyone. The oddest part is the way language changes. These days I hear young women address each other as "dude", which has traditionally reserved for men.

I think unless PG says something herself you should be safe, and Dowly can go back to his flight-sim cage.

I never stopped playing 2.1. As a matter of fact, I presently have two campaigns going: One with 2.1, and the other with RFB/RSRD. I'm sure whatever the team decides, the outcome will not disappoint. We have a great bunch of guys here, and the last thing I want to do is get under someone's skin.

More seriously, it'll take a few months to begun setting the base for GWX4, we're rebuilding the subs almost from scratch to take them to sh4 graphic detail level, and and we'll do that with most of the units present in GWX 2.1, so don't wait for it standing...
