View Full Version : Back to the Fleet Boat Side..

After two careers in U-Boats, time to go back to fleet boats. This will be my first run at the US side since I upgraded to v1.5
It looks nicer after the upgrade - is there anything I should be aware of on this side? Any new pitfalls or toys to play with? I started a career from Pearl in '41 and just started my 2nd mission.

In and of itself, not really, unless your interested in the history behind it. Well, i suppose you should expect alot of dud torpedos. :roll: Submarine sims, kinda play out the same regardless of theater or boat. Find targets, chase them, sink them. Repeat tell end of war or death takes you, whichever comes first. :lol:

My assumption is your running the stock game. Pitfalls can vary depending on what mod your running. Stock doesnt have much in the way of pitfalls, unless you count the swarms of planes that drive you under and keep you there. :lol: You do get alot of cool toys to play with though, Particuarlly in the area of radar, and you can have as many torpedo tubes in your bow as a type9 can in both its bow and stern. But other then that, *shrug* It's the mods that really make the game shine. RFB for 1.5 should be along shortly, (or so is my presumption), and TM for 1.5 is up and running. In either event you'll have your choice of modpack soon enough.

As campaigns go, RSRD, is "The" mod. i dont know how i didnt mention it. To me its just a given that most people run it :88)
