um, is there a training mission here?

hello folks ( or should I say ahoy shipmates?). I am new to this game (DW) but not to the subsims forum. Usually I pester the good folk of Silent Hunter 3 as that has been my sub game of choice for some while. However, I saw DW up for sale at a price I could afford, so I got it - and here I am.

I have to say it is not, at first glance, quite what I have been used to in SH3 - but maybe I could get into it more and start enjoying it if I knew a bit more about how to drive it. Is there a training mission I can have a bash at please??

At present I am interested in the sub side.

I do have a manual and I have tried the quickstart guide but do not feel it says enough to get me going.

Also, be sure to check out subguru.com for missions (including those meant for beginners) and mods.

The CADC (http://www.commanders-academy.com/) is also a good place to go for tactical advice. I'm a bit biased though. ;)

Anyway .. playing missions with one star should give you enough 'training'. :ping:

I have downloaded and printed off the walkthrough - but immediatly I am in trouble as the only ASW mission I have is entitled Gauntlet.....oh dear :(

The zip file should include the .mu mission file. Put that in your scenarios directory; after that the mission will be visible in the Single Missions menu.

oh - yes, it is there, I saw it. I will go and do that now ( silly ol me, again)
