Was between dogfights during a recon mission when I knoticed one of the enemy planes had drifted off course... a few ctrl+f2's later I saw this... Apparrently russian planes don't need pilots...

A map showing were the "Rogue plane" was. It Continued across the border never looking like it'd crash...

My plane exploded shortly after, stupid German engineering.

Simple explanation for it. It probably happened in this order:

1: Russian pilot takes serious hits on the plane and panics.

2: The pilot rights the plane (natural AI event).

3: The pilot bails out and the plane continues to fly straight, until it is either shot down or runs out of fuel.

Happens to me all the time. I'm used to it. However, in OFF, it's not rare to have a dogfight against an enemy aircraft and when you get close enough you suddenly see that there is noone in it....and that is strange....

I saw a pilotless Fw-190 just circling, I wonder how it happens. I'd have thought with a truly accurate flight model it woul eventually crash unless teh flight AI gets hung in a loop. Or maybe it was trimmed just right.

I've seen that happen before until i got to close and i got hit. Stupid unmanned plane you would think it would move for me lol.

I had to bail out on some ocasions as me plane got on fire and my pilot was injured in a IL2 campaign...

and when I looked in the external view of my wreck flying around going up and down for a while before my plane went up in bits.

Well, if your Aircraft has fuel leaks and engine catches on fire you have a high chance that your plane blows up after 8 seconds.
