Ooopsala - almost escaped my attention: Turkey is to pipe Turkmenian gas via Iran to Europe, putting an affront to both Washington and Russia, both of which compete with their own pipeline intentions that mirror very different strategic considerations.

Nice perspectives for Europe. It has nothing to control in this, it seems. Is anyone worried of that? "Noooooooo..."

But NATO cannot be happy either. Turkey brakes with NATO policies concerning Iran with this stunt.

Links simply taken over from a Grman essay I just stumbled over.

If you want to press your way into the EU and have a dominant word in it: make yourself indispensable and always have the finger close to the trigger. Or the gas tap, in this case.

Back in the late eighties, a friend told me that because of the enviromentalist surge that was to come, Natural Gas would become the new Gold. I never paid attention, I thought Nuclear would kill such kind of competition.

Today I ride a Volkswagen, him an Eurocopter.

Are there any financial opportunities from knowing the future of Islam?
