Anyone else getting this one . . . just finished attacking a convoy . . . saved it . . . and attempted to reload the campaign . . . and getting a CTD with the error of the messengernet.ddl.

This is the first time I have gotten this, and it appears to be reoccuring. Can this problem be resolved in the 1.3 patch?

Don't save near other units. This was a problem with SH3 also, the save games are rather fussy. Also better not to save underwater.

I'll have to remember that. Or just keep the game running in pause, it's been pretty stable, even overnight, running in x1 time.

Do yourself a favor and disable that pesky thing.

But the advice to not save "near the action" is good.

When you say disable . . . you mean turn it off . . . or uninstall it? I mean I don't use it, as I dropped Hotmail a long time ago.

By default windows enables it. Check your toolbar.

Its a little tricky to disable it but basically you tell windows to not load it on startup.

Its a little involved Ill try to see if I can find a link somwhere about how to do it. Illl edit in here later.

As promised how to disable messenger service http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/stopspam.mspx

Thanks. It was already disabled, If I have any other problems with that I will let you all know.

OK . . . with it disabled, and confirmed to be . . . and saving the file again, in an area far away from shipping, and on the service, while loading I go another CTD with the data beeing as follows:

AppName: sh4.exe AppVer: 1.2.0.0 ModName: messagenet.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00003a49

*sigh* Looks like I have to do the long way around, load a file that isn't bugged like this one . . . let it run for 5 minutes . . . then load this one . . . which works only 75% of the time.

Funny what a difference one little vowel can make ;)

messagenet.dll (in lieu of messegenet.dll) is indeed one of the core .dll's of SH4 from the null calls in the error message ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Im guessing either a corrupted save game or a corrupted install.

Google "messagenet.dll" and youll find a couple of german websites discussing this. Unfortunatly I do not speak german.

Probably from the original corrupted save . . . which effects all other saves with that save name. I have been able to get arround it, but that takes some 10-15 minutes . . . load an uncorrupted save file . . . then after 5 minutes of play of that . . . load the corrupted save file. That normally works . . . but I would rather have it not save corrupted files at all . . . and saving to a new name doesn't change things either . . . I've tried. But the problem usually rights itself when I get back to port, and complete the mission.

My CTDs usually happen when I go from the navigation screen to the TBT, but even then quite rarely.

I seem to always crash, not to desktop(Full OS crash), when I've been in the external camera for between 1-3 min. total. I've narrowed it down to being an issue with my video card and the driver causing a stop error in the OS because of excess hardware acceleration. Sadly, I've downloaded the most recent driver for my ATI Radeon 9800 and yet the catalyst(manager program) likes to tell me its not supported and I should update it. If/when I get a new video card it aint gunna be from ATI....

Sorry if this was a bit off topic but I needed to vent my frustrations...pretty hard to test torpedo depths/see where they impact w/o external cam.
