I am sorry if it does not belong here, but I assume at least Neal has the review copy of the game.

I have it too (I review games for my local magazine) and I wonder how do I set up MP??? My review copy came as one big compressed file on a DVD, no serial, no install procedure, no nothing, just unpack and click on the EXE, when I try to log on to UBI online service it keeps asking me for my serial (which I don't have).

Neal? Obviously you do play MP, so either you know something I don't know or you bought another copy of the game just for MP?

BTW my review copy also came without a manual (either printed or as PDF) which I think is just ridicolously, unspeakably wrong. How this game gets reviews above 80% when the reviewers are treated as morons is just beyond me....

hi Oleg, ol Buddy (I'm still chuckling over your Red Triangle saga :yep:)

Yep, they sent me the same review copy. I asked marketing for a serial number to review the MP and I think that sent them into a dizzy spiral of confusion. They sent one, but it didn't work. But it's ok, I always buy at least one copy of the A title games like SH3, DW, SH4. It would be kinda hypocritical of me to urge folks to buy the game and support the hobby...and I get a free copy  (My attempt to be noble, haha)

So, I have been playing and evaluating the MP with the retail copy. I was told the patch would not work for the review copy... so the review copy was just a sampler to get me started, I guess. This was not a very smooth launch, at all. With SH3, I had plenty of time to get familiar with the game, was even asked to playtest a few versions and offer feedback. SH4, well, maybe they were holding back because the game was not finished... anyway, I'm not reviewing Ubisoft's marketing group, I am basing my review off of the patched retail version of the game. So even though marketing treats us like morons, I won't be dinging the game for it :know:

I can send you the manual on pdf, if you like, just e-mail me at subsim@subsim.com The patch actually makes the game more enjoyable (except for the dreaded A key of Death!) and they do plan to complete the game. (Note: I said plan...). I believe! :yep:

cheers
Neal

Yeah and I still use SubSim com mouse pad :yep:

My review copy:

a) does not support MP
b) does not have any documentation (paper or PDF)
c) I cannot, repeat CANNOT patch it!

Since there was no proper install procedure, game is not registered in Windows registry and patch install procedure simply quits informing me there is no SH4 to patch!

Obviously you're subsim enthusiast so you went an extra mile for this, which is understandable, but most people aren't.
