I run bug tracking at my company and I have a web server. I think there are so many bugs in the sticky thread that we need to organize it better.

I have set up a BugZilla for this and will open admin rights to certain members of this community willing to do the legwork. I would help enter bugs, but my main duty would be support.

A discussion thread is great for discussions but not for bug tracking. There's so many I'm not sure how the dev team is supposed to prioritize these bugs. Some only affect certain people, while some affect all but are of arguable priority. This is, of course, the purpose of proper bug tracking.

With a little effort, we can give them with a comprehensive bug list, ranked by severity in a democratic way, based on the number of people affected and a vote on the severity averaged for the bugs.

I would guess that the "a" crash would get pretty high billing, but I might be wrong. That's the whole point.

I'm new here so I don't know people, but I'm sure there are people who would clearly stand out as folks I could trust to set bug priorities based on all the relevant data.

I'd like everyone's thoughts on this.

Generally there is one person for the roles of setting priorities, at least one to squash duplicates, and then anyone (registered) could enter bugs and vote.

I've already got the BugZilla system working, on a web server, email notification and signup is working, sh4bugs.com is registered, and I'll probably have the thing live for people to use tonight.

I'd like to hear that people here will take the system to heart and make a comprehensive, properly ranked bug list and that everyone else will vote their favorite bugs up.

Update: The server is up and running but not yet available due to a domain/IP configuration screwup. Sorry, I was trying something experimental there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It's all fixed and should automatically kick in and be available within the next few hours, depending on how often your ISP updates it's DNS information.

I have submitted and set severity on 18 semi-random bugs to get things started.

When it's working for you, please come in and start submitting bugs. Let's get organized!
