[I know nothing, nada, ZIP... about On-Line play of anything... through a NAT Router].

I have a pal that has chased down SH3, and now 'we' would like to go On-Line together. I have NO idea what ports need to be open, or what. And he is in the same trouble. Back when I had a dedicated '98 machine for Flight Games, I just hooked it to the Cable Modem and went into The Wild. Don't want to do that with these machines that are multi-use, and behind the router.

Help ??

You could do worse than start here  http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=105486

Hmmm.. well...you see... 'we' have always just played TCP/IP together. Seems easier for us than entering into a 'group' thing. Maybe SH3 doesn't work between only two guys using IP addresses ??

You can both play online in the forum and password protect your game so no one else can join

A thought, for sure. But...to sort of 'finish'... do you know if SH3 *will* play, TCP/IP between two people ?

Oh... and does the UBI play completely eliminate our Router question ??

I'm not a bad Tech.. but have had nothing to do with this....

I'm personally not aware of TCP/IP posibilities. :nope:
I play and host games through a router...if you encounter a problem (it would prob be the hosting element) go to portforward.com

OK... well that's a lot more than I knew before... I'll have to see if I can talk my 'Mate into it. When I opened Multiplayer in SH3 I found what looked like familiar LAN stuff...

Anyway, I appreciate your time and trouble..

Smooth sailing..

The 'secret' is to first off open up a Ubi account :yep:
Don't hesitate to come back if you need anything at all  :arrgh!:
