Bora Bora, South Pacific:

While refueling and retorping one's "Gato", one might as well have a few drinks on the beach with some of the locals, mmmm?

While I doubt that the SH4 water/scenery will look anything like this in the SoPac, I can always hope for SH6, right?? :D

save the picture you want into your pc, then go to www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) and browse your foders until you find it. Set the size and then paste the forum 1 tag into your post. And,voila! You have a picture.

Or alternatly you can find the pictures properties and put IMG tags around it.

Houston was a bit like that:up:. Only the water in Galveston was... brown.

I am forever spooked at these beautiful shorelines with the image of Tsunami rolling in off the shoreline...

I don't think I'll ever feel the same about a beach again...

Don't worry... that view is from the lagoon side!

Also, here's another little taste of the South Pacific for everyone (I think the SH4 graphics engine is going to have too much of the "north atlantic" left in it to produce views like this... but like I said before, maybe in SH6 ;) ):

I took this picture at sunrise in Bora Bora after sailing there from Raietea. No worries about Tsunamis there - it's all about plate tectonics and earthquakes. Big danger in Indonesia, little if any in Society Islands of Fr. Polynesia. In my humble opinion, Bora Bora is the most beautiful spot in the world. Prettiest place I've ever been, anyway. Come to think of it, Bora Bora is a volcano, albeit an extinct one.

I'm really eager to see Rabaul and the japanese sub base. I saw it in 2004 when I was living in PNG, and by golly I know where i'm retiring to (along with as many guns as I can get my grubby hands on)

it's a shame the south atlantic doesn't quite look like this in SH3....

A fine place for a tender... and behold, the Comandante's Bar is on the other side of the foliage.

And for bonus points, the next cove over, there's actually a bar boat. Holler your order, whether it's chips and cold beer or whatever got pulled out of the water and fried fresh... and a guy will jump in a dinghy and deliver it. Now that's a civilized maritime experience.

The banner on the boat reads Petisco da Ilha Bar...

All of these are from Ilha Grande in Brazil. A few hours drive and another hour or so by boat from Rio. The beaches on this island ruined the North American coastline for me.

That's too beautiful for words ... watching the children getting back from boogie boarding or in my case the grandchildren ... My wife gets them a fresh towel as I ask them how well done they want their thin sliced rib eye steak with a baked potatoe full of chives and sour cream with a palm full of chedder cheese on top.

The teak picnic table with pearl inlay is a setting of love with nice clean forks and knives, napkins, glasses of iced tea with a slice of lemon ... hand cranked paypaya ice cream for desert.

The children ask permission to go play a video game before they go to bed to wake up and do it all over again tomorrow.

The Mrs. smiles that little secret smile while she's cleaning up the table ... on her second trip back to the patio yard to clean up she says, "Honey, did you forget to shave today?" as she shyly makes her self busy to finish what she was doing.

I take one last look at the fading glory of the beautiful setting sunset before me as I rise from my royal teak outdoor arm chair with royal blue cushions ... "My dear I will take care of that problem right now" "Please remind me more often ... sometimes we mere men forget", as I pat her on her sweet backside on my way to the masterbed room's bath, reminding the children they can stay up late tonight, just remember to turn off everything before they go to bed.

Nice picture Frateloder :yep:
