CTD Issue

Everytime I start playing in multi my system crashes to the desktop. Befiore I was able to play no proble, now after about 30 minutes the system drops. Not really sure what the heck is going on? On a side note, how do we send message to each other in game? I looked at the referance card and it shows nothing on how to send messages, or in F1, am baffled.

Some games require mods like GWX in order to play in a certain game.

I and a friend are both running GWX same optional mods, his sytem is a little newer than mine. I have no problem playing career or any of the solo missions. I just keep crashing when doing multi. Not sure if it is my system, how good our systems are talking(if that makes a difference), or if I may just have to re-install everything.

well I cant play GWX yet but I can play NYGM. The thang is that people that hosts games must at least say somethang about a mod required when they name thier game like GWX players only.

i get the same problem,the GWX mod launches and plays fine for a while and then just drops to desktop in MP,i have installed it correctly i think,and have the dec 23rd patch installed........i hope someone can help me with this issue.

Are you using SH3commander
If so rollback prior to trying to play MP games

no im not using sh3 commander,im using JSGME and installed the latest patch through that.....

to talk in gane you hit Num lock then type and hit enter. There is a new patch out? For GWX or SH3?

I hope things smooth out a little I've been dropping in MP as well, I know I had forgot to disable 16nm mod one time..when i went to external view i ctd..so we need to be extra careful..:know:

I've also discoed while being DC'd..that maybe a lag issue,,not sure:ping:

The disconnecting while being dc'd is raising its ugly head..In sh2 this was a early network problem..some things to test
No one run voice coms..
No open prgs msn and ie..forum monitoring
These all added to problems in sh2..
I'd like to test my theory.suspicions..
Lag spikes when server is updating to clients especially when client under attack,,
also I'd love to turn off event camera..I ctd often(in MP} when that is open.
I have that turned off in my career options I guess it doesnt carry over to MP

It doesn't. You can turn off the event camera for MP at the main menu page, under options, IIRC.

I think you can also disable it for MP by going to My Documents/SH3/data/cfg and opening main.cfg, then change the setting for EventCamera=Yes to EventCamera=No

I still stand by by suspicion about voice coms and background programs open IE forum monitoring and im's..of course you may not see it if your pings are low, but get to greater than 300.. and it maybe another opinion..btw watch who disco's first under fire Usually the player with the greatest ping.:know:

Thanks for the tip on event camera...i have it off in my Single player options..I'll experiment with the Mp cfg..files Thanks:up:

I'm hoping to play GWX in the near future under higher realism setting ..ie no external view ..it adds a lot to the thrill..I'll still enjoy external views while joining other server hosts and single player mode..if your interested in trying let me know..I could also use some help with the manual tdc,,maybe we could still have the weapons officer plot for us..
stage 1 i'll host no externals but auto tdc..just to see how people like it.

BTW i'll label my server External off ..If i have it setup that way..
