Hi all,

When using the Peri or Uzo you have the option of using the Lock button to fix a target in the centre of your view. I don't use this at all if I can help it as it does seem rather unrealistic - but that's why I'm posting this - is it a real feature they had, or purely instrumented for SH3?

The idea seems nice if it was available in real-life, but looking at the mechanics behind such a thing, well, I doubt they could have implemented such a system - or did they??

Thanks,

Px3000

EDIT - Sorry - posted in the wrong forum by mistake - Admin's, can this be moved to the SH3 forum instead please? - I don't know how to do that (or if I'm even able to). Thanks!

Yes it is the wrong forum but it will be moved
No I dont think they would have had a lock button but they would have had someone - you the Kpt - holding onto the peri at all times you had it raised
Obviously you cant do this ingame and have to be 50 men at most times

As bigboywooly said, the lock feature is just an assist that didn't really exist. But normally you'd have somewhere around 5-7 people on the fire control party, and at least one would be manning the periscope at all times. So it isn't unreasonable or 'unrealistic' to be able to lock your periscope onto a target, if you view it, game-mechanics-wise, as it representing having someone manning the periscope.
