Just d/l the GW mod and like it so far. Good work guys.

Now, is there a way to activate the "floating" stopwatch from the Nav map?

Also, what is the best spread setting when firing a salvo of two torps. to get them to strike close to the same place? Is a ZERO setting accecptable?

Thanks,
Barkhorn.

The 'Floating' watch can only be started via the originals on the uzo/ops/attack views.

In GW, you don't want to aim torps at the same spots, because flooding is simulated. Your best plan is to be less than 1000 mtrs/yds & at 90 deg with a spread dependant on the size of your prey.

Bummer, that make marking up the nav map a bit more difficult.

Makes sense - but is there a rule of thumb for this sort of thing. My experience is that anything over 3 degrees is too much. Am I correct?

At 90 degrees you'll want to be with +/- 5 deg (i.e between 355 & 005). As for the spread it is totally dependant on the range to the target and the size, but 3 deg spread is not a bad figure.

I use about 3 degrees if I'm within 2000 meters. Any closer and I close the degrees to 1 or 2. If the target is 3000 meters or more the idea was a wide spread in the track of the target to better your chance of a hit. This also helps in a convoy situation. Again, the idea behind a larger spread so as to hit more than one ship in the track. I usually use the preset spread in convoy or 3000 meter off the bow. The beauty of this game is that you can mess around from patrol to patrol using all kinds of settings. Make a note of what works best in the postion you find yourself in. :lurk:
