When I generate a report of my career, all is well including number of ships sunk, but for some reason tonnage is not added, and U-boat is always reported damaged:

I am running v1.4b plus RUb1.40 (I am quite comfortable with RUb1.40 and have not yet updated to RUb1.42), I wonder if the problem is that SH3Commander is now prepared just for 1.42... or perhaps that I am using the Random Tonnage mod with SH3Commander?
My career was started prior to installing SH3Commander, and if possible I would not like to re-start a new one yet.

The 'U-Boat damaged' message is puzzling too.

Just a minor issue, but reporting the correct tonnage would save me a lot of manual record-keeping.

See your PM.

Curiously, what tonnage figures show up in SH3 on the screen that lists all your completed patrols?

It's strange that it is picking up everything but the tonnage totals - all details are stored in the block in the same file. Anyway, I may get a better idea after I see your patrols.cfg file.

I would suspect that there is some conflict somewhere though.

Any thoughts on adding a install directory option for the SH3commander rather than relying on the Registry??
As per the comment I've made in the main SH3Commander topic?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great program I use and love, but it's just that I tend to make multiple copies of the game directory of modding and the base I leave stock cause if a take it off I don't loose any mods etc (comes from GTA series. GTA3 I had 3 versions; Stock, Old Cars & Newcars. Same with VC, and probably again with SA once they start modding vehicles whole rather than skins).
Also helps if a mod buggers the game up I can just delete the directory and copy it again rather than do a complete re-install.

Also since I've changed the registry values I'll have to remember to change them back before a remove program.

Any thoughts??

Some, perhaps silly, but fundamental questions:
- Are you getting any error messages in SH3 Commander when you select this career?
- If you freshly open SH3Cmdr.exe from Explorer and press the "Summary..." button straight after selecting this career does it still happen?
- Does this happen with all your careers?
- What OS are you using?

The mods you run shouldn't have any impact, as this data is sourced direct from SH3 created files. As you can see, it's worked perfectly here.

I have a theory, but I'll need you to email me the crew list and a screen shot of any crew member in the Crew Manager screen.

How are multiple installs stored in the registry? I'm sure something can be done.

Also helps if a mod buggers the game up I can just delete the directory and copy it again rather than do a complete re-install.
Have you tried (shameless plug) the Generic Mod Enabler? Prior to writing it I tended to install a game once, then copy and paste it, thus essentially creating a "clean backup". I then left it alone. Then, if the modded version became corrupt, I just deleted it and renamed the backup (by recopying). Haven't had to do that for quite a while though, 'cause the Mod Enabler helps me out. ;)

Hello, I've just sent you the required files.

Answers:
- No error messages whatsoever from SH3 Commander
- Tried opening with explorer, go directly to generate summary, same result.
- I have just one selectable career, started before installing SH3 Commander, two previous careers ended when sunk.

Updated: new career started, August 1940, VIIB from St. Nazaire. First patrol completed, 1 warship and 2 merchants sunk... same problem, tonnage appears as 0 in summary.

- Windows XP 1GB RAM

Cheers!

okey, I have found the problem, but I don´t know what the problem is.

here we go: in SH3 save folder/data/cfg/careers we have a file whith name patrols.cfg. open it and scrol to ..."MerchantTonnageSunk=25199.000000"

it´s wrong. delete ".000000" and it´s working. But I can´t understand why :-?

Hey! You're absolutely right!

It's the same for the 'U-boat damaged' message, I just had to delete the .000000 after 'hull integrity' (when it's 100, of course!) BTW, the final campaign summary tonnage is taken from another file, careers.cfg instead of adding the partials from patrols.cfg
And did you notice that the patrols.cfg also has a field prepared to store the number of destroyed HELICOPTERS ?!?

And the final question is... why is not everyone having the same problem? What should I change in my configuration so that this .000000 has not to be deleted by hand?

Thanks a lot for the clue, it will save me a lot of paper-work! :P

I don´t know, but maybe it´s a problem with européen SH3. Anybody who has this problem?

It's definitely gotta be related to regional settings, as Spain uses the . as a thousanth separator and the , as a decimal point as opposed to the other way around. Don't know how many countries this affects though.

Seems that SH3 writes it with a . decimal point regardless. Without getting boring, this appears to be clashing with the regional settings and my retrieving of the values. So, I'll just build a work around in my code to make it work in all countries. :)

Dunno why the devs stored it with the 6 decimal places though :-?
