Dead cats never die, they have eight more lives to go BUMP

I find it remarkable that this anti-bump thread, intended to kill the curious cat definitly, keeps bumping up; that it gets more votes that the dead cat thread and that the dead cat thread still stays alive!
:hmm:

I bet a bottle of vodka that this thread will be dead in a week. :)
No new BUMP thread can live up to the original BUMP thread.

Schrodinger's Cat .
A cat is placed in a box, together with a radioactive atom. If the atom decays, and the geiger counter detects an alpha particle, the hammer hits a flask of prussic acid (HCN), killing the cat. The paradox lies in the clever coupling of quantum and classical domains. Before the observer opens the box, the cat's fate is tied to the wave function of the atom, which is itself in a superposition of decayed and undecayed states. Thus, said Schrodinger, the cat must itself be in a superposition of dead and alive states before the observer opens the box, "observes" the cat, and "collapses" its wave function. In other words, before the observer opens the box and observes the cat, the cat is BOTH dead AND alive at the same time.

Sounds like clever philosophical BS to me. By the same token, if I mortally wound a cat I could also argue that it's both dead and alive, since it's not dead yet but has no chance to survive.

Pure unadulterated silliness.

Schrodinger's Cat - theory:
When I don't understand something right away, I try to picture it.
In this case I understand even less of it.
