Sonar New Look

I found this photo (public domain) of the sonar station on an Arleigh Burke and I wonder how these things may work? It's far different from familiar waterfalls and they look nice and spatially intuitinal... I mean, the reason for which I sticked with the Akula throughout Sub Command.

Unless they are active sonar displays? The pic was marked as "surface anti-submarine sonar" and it seems that they have narrowband displays below so I don't think so.

It actually can be combination of active (in the yellow frame) and passive broadband (on the border).

The lower screen is narrowband for sure. I mean the upper half. But the lower half ? Looks like intensity/time returns from active sonar, I've seen such graphs in books.
