F11 can get you there also if ROW is not installed. :up:

I remember back in 1.1, you can "walk" around the exterior of the sub, but removed in 1.2 and after.

Also, I would like to see german and japanese commandos ingame, the german supply men have thompsons?

These aren't actually commandoes, just two dudes that deliver supplies. I don't think there's any commando missions in the German campaign. But Thomsons - you're damn right :doh:

I know this isnt a flight sim - but the sunderland looks like it needs some work, the engines look badly modelled, roundels are missing from the underside of the wings, no leigh light, bombardeers window below the nose turret is missing and that just just from looking at it from that angle, god knows how may more mistakes I'll find when i see it from a topdown view! :D :D

You may also consider that SH4 is a submarine simulation, not a world simulation. And still, there are 120 models of ships and 16 airplanes.

You don't need to have 30000 renown at one time. It's just the sum of youre earnings that should be 30000, so it's no problem that you used them.

If the sub had large holes, it would be on the surface, or underwater unintentionally, IMO.

Better would be a dented in texture which would be more realistic. Sadly, the damage templates right now are shared with the ships.

I don't want to be pedantic, but this isn't the "Deutschland" (later "Lützow"). This is either the "Admiral Graf Spee" or "Admiral Scheer". Since the Spee was sunk in 1939 it must be the Scheer.:know:

Fraps can also be used to take screenshots. Its a bit easier than Ctrl + F11 ingame. That overlay appears incase you want to take a video also :yep: I'm pretty sure it'll display the same numbers.

This is one image I was waiting to see for a long time :up: a side-by-side comparison of a fleet boat and a IX9D/2 U-Boat.

The Type IX9D/2 is a good boat, and the only U-Boat really comparable to the fleet subs (Long range submarines, unlike the german VIIC one), but even if having some strong points, the fleet boat is still the winner IMHO.

Range: Fleet Boat wins
Torpedo Load: Fleet Boat wins
Electronics: Fleet Boat wins, hugely superior radar and also superior TDC
Dive depth: U-boat wins here
Speed (Underwater or surfaced): Fleet Boat wins
Diving speed: U-Boat wins by a small margin, but the fleet sub has earlier warning of aircraft due to her superior radar, so that's a draw for me.

The only other thing where the U-Boat wins is torpedo efectiveness in early war, because of the MK14 torpedo scandal. But 1943 onwards -when the IX9D/2 was constructed- US and german torpedo efectiveness was on pair.:hmm:

This all does of course NOT mean that americans would have created a better midlle-sized submarine than the german VIIC if they had tried (Because no US submarine is comparable to a VIIC -different boats for different purposes-), but it illustrates well how fleet submarines excelleded in their task :up:

Here is a screenshot when I got too cocky and deceided to go against a Task Force. Sank 2 Kents and 1 Fiji but escorts got me good. Heavy flooding, bow tubes destroyed, several crew members dead. All I had left was trying to fend the off with AA guns while trying to escape, I thought I put the deck gun on but apprentaly not. Unfortuneatly, the 3 destroyers had my crew and I surrounded and gave us hell and I need not say the rest because you know what happened. We made a new artifical reef for the fishes of the Indian Ocean.

What you did wrong is that you chose the wrong link from what Imageshack gave you. I take you chose the 'Show image to your friends', right? In that case, the [IMG] tags dont work. You have to choose the last link, titled "Direct link to image". :up:

A while back I was messing around with the Type XVIII. I was trying to make a mission for it, but ultimately scrapped it. Anyway, I made my way into Pearl Harbor and surfaced. Looks like IJN Type 41 356mm duals to me, if i recall right, even after the reconstruction of the ship, main armament type stayed the same. So those should be 14"ers if i recall the sizes right. But still, nice picture from the bridge.

For some reason I just couldn't get my torpedo targetting right to hit this T3 Tanker so I decided to slug it out with the deck gun.

We both punched holes in each other's hulls but I still couldn't get her after about 30hits. Finally had to submerge, run ahead, and use a stern torpedo from point blank range. Then it was time to RTB because she tore the hull of my boat up pretty bad with that gun.

Yes it is, it comes with Lurker's fantastic Operation Drumbeat campaign :D You can get it in the SH4 forum, it has a sticky there :up:

Thanks a lot! I'm not into SH IV yet but it great to know my Type VII will be ready! Hate those heavy boats, like the IXD and most of the American ones.
