Typhoon would be a suitable choose

I test Yak38 and AV-8B on it, size fit, only problem is: if I want a plane fly, I must change the typhoon into a ship type(in sub type, it can't add a aircraft, the aircraft dialog can't show up), result in the sub floating on sea, sublike ship,:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Japanese did have a aircraft carrier sub Yi-401 in World war 2

anyone have suggestion can fix that problem?:arrgh!:

You're talking about creating it in DW, aren't you?

Maybe instead of DSRV you could use a plane, but how are you gonna use it on sub?
Not possible, I suppose....:dead:

They have had helicopters land on deck of a typhoon a jet might be too heavy though.

I also read somwhere about mini helis starting from subs right after the war. It was just one seat, no tail section, no rotating part engine, just scramjet chambers at tips of the rotor blades. It could be build from parts in just a few minutes and was used (or being tested at least) for reconnaissance purposes.

I suppose those mini helis were low-range because of their construction?:ping:

The Germans had a "heli-kite", a little gyrocopter that was towed by the submarine to altitude to extend the visible search range. If you had to dive, oh well...

Seems even more heartless than the Catapault Armed Merchant ships...

I try DSRV, it make the problem even harder.??Sub carry aircraft is easy to find.?Av-8B is ok. No need for runway. ??Only problem is how can we make the "carrier aircraft and aircondition add dialog" possible

It stinks to me that modifying exe/dll is required, which is against EULA...:stare:

Yeah .. that was something very like this. But that was US (IIRC), and it had an engine (thought really simple one).

Aircraft carrier sub isnt a new idea:

http://www.divernetxtra.com/wrecks/wtour5799.htm

Sank in 1932 as someone left the hanger doors open.

Dived it last year and hopefully again next week.

The japanese tried it in WW2 with limited success. Cant really see any need for one this day and age. A subs role has changed.

That was a WWII era, has anyone tried it, say 5 years from now?
As gnirtS said, I don't see a need for this either, but I recon this could be a very interesting object, but I simply don't see a way how to do it...
@caymanlee: I bet that your only chance is to contact someone from SCS and they have purple S avatar on this forum, simply PM someone....:yep:
Good luck and I should be the first to be notified of your success, and then this would made to the front page of SubSim....
I can see it before my eyes:
The first mod ever to launch an aircraft/helo from a sub for Dangerous Waters...
Don't count on Jamie anymore, as he left, I think....

Thanks man!

but I still think a Aircraft carrier-Sub still has its place in today.
So I continue trying, Cheers!

USS Sealion APSS-315 and Perch APSS-313 was equiped with a landing platform for helos as part of its SOF mission durring the Korean War. The Guavina AGSS-362 was modified to act as a oiler for the P6M Marlin flying boats, nothing came of it. The Austrilians used a Oberon class boat as a launching platform for an A-4 Skyahawk, again nothing came of it other than a cool picture Bill Nicholas will no doubt post here... :know:
