1/6/99 I am looking for information about a submarine that operated as an attack sub in the Atlantic in the final stages of WW II. It was designated O-8. My late father in law was exec when it was decomissioned, and we have the battle flag. Any help with its history would be appreciated.
1/1/99 I would like to talk with anyone that knows the whereabouts of "Red" Garvey. He was an EN2 on the Salmon in the mid sixties(when we became the first navy vessel to win the battle efficiency E seven years in a row) Red got out and went to work at Mare Island as a shipfitter. I lost touch with him in the late seventies. He was from Montana.

12/28/98 I was an IC/EM on subs from 1962 through 1970. Qualified on the Rasher was on it twice, was on the Salmon twice, the Redfish , the Sargo and the Baya. I retired in 1974. Brian Bowers (PA) used it describe every meal as the best he ever had., Doug Boone (KY) got him drunk the day his wife was to join him in MS, Mike Galida (NY?) reenlisted in an air plane then the landing gear didn't go down. Then the Lt doing the ceremony threw up., George Herrick (CT) smoked so many Camels that I don't expect to hear form him. Wade Kettner (MN) swore he would not buy another Tonka Truck since they moved from Minnesota to Mexico. Please, anyone else, I am remembering a lot more now that I start typing.

7/4/98 This is to all sub sailors who were stationed in New London and Groton in the late 60's and 70's. A lot of you stopped in at a house on Long Hill Road in Groton. You found strong coffee and a warm smile from the family that lived there. It was the Frank and Gloria Fournier house. This house was a home away from home for a lot of us.Two of Frank and Gloria's girls even married sub sailors. It is my sad duty at this time to report the passing of Gloria Fournier. Can still remember the Seabees sinking the bulldozer on the beach in Guam! Known back then as Maddog, TM2SS. in Charge of the room for 2 patrols.
